Dennis Edmonds, Managing Partner
Dennis Edmonds is the Managing Partner of Federal Benefits Information Center. As a Federal Benefits Consultant, he specializes in retirement planning and financial strategies for Federal employees. Dennis holds the Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant℠ designation – a prestigious, high-tier expertise in Federal Benefits held by less than 1% of all retirement and financial professionals in the United States.
It may be difficult to understand all of your Federal Benefits, let alone their requirements and complexities. Incomplete forms, missed deadlines, misunderstood elections, or poor timing could mean as much as thousands of dollars lost over a Federal career. As a ChFEBC℠ practitioner, Dennis offers a high-level knowledge of the complete Federal Benefits System. His expertise in understanding Federal Benefits parallels those of the Office of Personnel Management and of Select Services.
Dennis began his career in financial services with a Fortune 100 company. During that time, he helped small business owners, retired investors, and high net-worth households to prepare for successful retirement transitions. Today, he leverages 26+ years of experience to cover retirement issues pertaining to Federal workers, as well as across-the-board challenges facing baby boomers.
Dennis holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. A resident of Florida, he splits his time between offices in St. Petersburg, FL, Wilmington, North Carolina, and Enfield, Connecticut.
Brenda Moore – Managing Director & Senior Partner
Ms. Moore brings over 30 years of financial, accounting and management experience to FBIC. During her seven years with Ernst & Young, Ms. Moore provided financial and operational audits, internal audit services and management consulting to publicly traded and privately owned clients in various industries including insurance, financial services, retail, health care, law and publishing.
In her positions as Controller of the Women’s Tennis Association Tour and as CFO in the finance and telecommunications industries, Ms. Moore was responsible for such critical functions as financial reporting, financial budgeting, strategic operational planning, business risk analysis and corporate governance.
Through her CPA firm, she provides tax, consulting and contract CFO services to individuals and companies. Ms. Moore graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, licensed life and health insurance producer and a member of the American Institute of CPAs. When not working, Ms. Moore can be found fishing on a lake or spending time with family.
Erik Doty – Principal Senior Advisor
As a Senior Advisor, Erik focuses on serving individuals and families throughout the country employed by any federal agency. He helps them implement personalized strategies to address their unique financial needs and goals.
Erik brings with him more than 25 years of executive coaching, operations, and management experience. He served in the United States Marine Corps as an officer, achieving the rank of Captain, and Naval Aviator piloting heavy lift helicopters. Throughout his career Erik has taken on critical assignments managing large operations, including the third largest facility in New England. He has also served as an Executive Life Coach for an executive consulting company in South Deerfield, MA.
With his unique background, Erik brings a specialized understanding of benefits that are unique to federal employees and their families. Erik will have access to a broad range of options for retirement products and services from a select network of well-known and respected insurance and financial services companies, allowing him to deliver customized solutions.
A graduate of Webster University, St. Louis Missouri, Erik holds a Master of Arts in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ithaca College. He is proud to be active in his community. He has been recognized on numerous occasions for the donation of his time and service to organizations such as the Mary Lyon Education Foundation, VFW Post 8503, Cub Scouts, Pop Warner, and United Way.
John Mashburn – Senior Advisor
John Mashburn is a Senior Advisor for the Federal Benefits Information Center. The number one source for federal benefits information and the service responsible for providing your free Federal Benefits Analysis. John is the former CEO of Maranatha Financial. He has 20 years’ experience, in the retirement planning and insurance fields with several high-profile companies, and in several other high-profile positions, prior to joining the federal market.
In addition to holding the Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant designation, John has an Associate’s Degree in Human Services from Horry-Georgetown Technical College and a Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in Counseling/Psychology.
John and his wife Tiffany, reside in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with their three children. He is active in his local church and donates time and resources to several charitable organizations, including Barnabas Aid and Compassion International.
